By a margin even greater than that of the original vote, the House has voted to override President Bush’s veto of H.R. 6331, the bill that would reform competitive bidding, postpone the program, and exempt complex power rehab from the program.
The Tuesday afternoon vote was 383-41. The bill originally passed the House by a count of 355-59 before the Independence Day holiday weekend.
Bush’s anticipated veto came earlier today.
Next up, the Senate will vote on whether or not to override the veto. The Senate voted last week 69-30 to pass H.R. 6331, which also erases a sharp funding cut to physicians treating Medicare beneficiaries.
Competitive bidding went into effect in the first-round competitive bidding areas on Juy 1.
