Invacare Corp.’s Move for Mobility campaign is now an award winner.
The Move for Mobility project — held in May in collaboration with Free Wheelchair Mission — won two 2024 WebAwards in the categories of “Medical Standard of Excellence” and “Nonprofit Standard of Excellence.”
In total, the 425 Invacare employees participating in Move for Mobility raised $28,000 to purchase 294 wheelchairs for people living with disabilities in developing countries.
“We are incredibly proud to receive the 2024 WebAward for our Move for Mobility campaign in partnership with Free Wheelchair Mission,” Invacare Digital Communications Specialist Arielle Favard said in a September news announcement. “It’s been a rewarding and inspiring project, with a purpose that has had a real positive impact.
“This award inspires all of us at Invacare to continue innovating and providing the resources, platforms and voice that our communities need to lead active, independent lives.”
Favard added that Invacare plans to repeat the Move for Mobility program in May 2025. Free Wheelchair Mission describes itself as “a humanitarian, faith-based nonprofit that designs and manufactures cost-efficient, durable wheelchairs for developing countries around the world.”
“We are deeply grateful for the incredible partnership with Invacare,” said Brad Cooper, head of marketing for Free Wheelchair Mission. “Together, we’ve been able to make a life-changing impact for hundreds of individuals around the world by providing the gift of mobility. This recognition by the Web Marketing Association highlights the power of collaboration and purpose-driven action to transform lives.”
The WebAwards program is operated by the Web Marketing Association, which said the awards are “the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks for the best websites based on the seven criteria of a successful website.”
