Two investment firms ù Compass Group International and Hollywood Capital ù have formed Anodyne Medical Device, Inc., with the intention of acquiring “leading manufacturers of medical support surfaces,” according to a statement from the newly formed HME company.
Among Anodyne’s first moves was acquiring AMF Support Surfaces of Corona, Calif., and SenTech Medical Systems of Coral Springs, Fla., whose product lines include wheelchair cushions and bariatric DME.
Anodyne Chairman/CEO Mark Bidner said in a statement about the acquisitions, “With expertise and manufacturing capabilities in both foam-based and air-based products, Anodyne will be focused on the research and development of new pressure-reduction technologies.” Anodyne, which is based in Los Angeles, will be exhibiting at Medtrade Spring in Las Vegas later this month.
