ISS to Feature Wheelchair User Experience

February 3, 2015 by Laurie Watanabe

The upcoming International Seating Symposium (ISS) in Nashville, Tenn., is the biggest event of the year for seating & mobility clinicians and assistive technology providers.

But before the conference and exhibit hall officially open, consumers and caregivers will have their chance to see what seating & mobility manufacturers will be highlighting during the event.

On Wed., Feb. 25, the ISS is hosting the Wheelchair User Experience Disability Products Expo from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is a collaboration between the University of Pittsburgh, which produces the ISS in the United States, and United Spinal Association, a consumer advocacy group.

A United Spinal news bulletin to stakeholders said the event would be “giving wheelchair users an opportunity to see, touch and explore the latest in products and services from over 120 product exhibitors.”

The bulletin added that representatives from disability organizations would also be on hand to answer questions regarding services available to consumers with disabilities.

The ISS formally opens on Thurs., Feb. 26, and runs through Sat., Feb. 28. Pre-symposium educational sessions are scheduled for Feb. 24-25.

The ISS will take place once again at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville.
