The University of Pittsburgh’s International Seating Symposium (ISS) team is gearing up for the second of its two-day Virtual Professional Summit (VPS), planned for Wed., March 6.
The first day of the VPS was Feb. 7, but seating professionals registering now can view that day’s educational sessions on demand. Registration is open for the March 6 live event, and sessions will also be available to view on demand.
The March 6 VPS starts at 10 a.m. Eastern with a panel on Complex Rehabilitation Technology wheelchair repair and maintenance. The panelists for the session are Matt Castelluccio, Dan Fedor, Andrea Madsen, Matthew Nelson, and Lynn Worobey. Mobility Management Editor Laurie Watanabe will moderate the panel.
After that session, Permobil will give the morning Supporter Spotlight presentation.
Afternoon sessions will feature Michelle L. Lange, OTR/L, ABDA, ATP/SMS (Secondary Supports: It’s All in the Angles!); Pamela E. Toto, Ph.D., OTR/L, BCG, FAOTA, FGSA (Aging in Place: “Real World” Challenges and Solutions); and a panel — Inpatient to Outpatient Transition: Who’s on First to Manage Evolving AT Needs — featuring Rachel Hibbs, DPT, NCS, ATP/SMS; Theresa Berner, OTR/L, ATP; Cathy Carver, MS, PT, ATP/SMS; Bradley Hannan, ATP/SMS, CTRS; John Letizia, ATP, CAPS, CEAC; and Vince Schiappa, MS, ATP.
Etac will give the afternoon Supporter Spotlight presentation. The day will wrap up with a Town Square hosted by the International Society of Wheelchair Professionals (ISWP); the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehabilitation Technology (NCART); and the Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
The ISS:VPS is offering financial assistance for students and attendees from low- and middle-income nations. Applicants can fill out a survey to request financial assistance.
VPS attendees who register by May 1, 2024, will be entered to win a free registration to the 39th International Seating Symposium, March 20-22, 2025, in Pittsburgh.
