Jon Raffii
Jon Raffii, ATP, has joined Kalogon as the seating manufacturer’s new national field educator.
Raffii has served in the Complex Rehab Technology industry for almost 20 years. Most recently, he worked as an ATP for National Seating & Mobility in Fort Myers, Florida, and ran an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) clinic equipment program. Raffii also taught courses for occupational and physical therapy programs at local colleges.
“I have always placed a big emphasis on education,” Raffii said in a social media post about his new position. “At Kalogon, I’ll be doing what I love most: educating ATPs, clinicians and customers about the best options available for their seating and mobility. Kalogon’s smart seating technology is changing what’s possible for wheelchair users, and I’m excited to be a part of it. I’ll be developing training programs, creating continuing education opportunities, supporting our Kalogon Flyers brand ambassador program, and hitting the road to work directly with providers who want to deliver better outcomes.”
Raffii added that he’s “particularly excited about Orbiter Med + Bondar as an alternative to custom-molded seating.” Having spent many years creating molded seating, “I’ve seen firsthand how it gets over-prescribed when other solutions might serve users better,” Raffii said. “The chance to help ATPs understand when and how to use these technologies is exactly the kind of work I’ve been moving toward.”
Raffii new responsibilities will include developing training programs for ATPs and clinicians, creating continuing education opportunities for them, and providing a real-life ATP perspective on product development and marketing. He’ll also go into the field and will attend seating conferences to educate providers.
“We’re thrilled to have an ATP with Jon’s depth of experience and genuine passion for education joining Kalogon as our national field educator,” Kalogon CEO Tim Balz said in his own social media post. “His commitment to making sure clinicians truly understand products — not just how to order them, but how to evaluate, install and optimize them for real patient outcomes — is exactly what our industry needs more of.
“Jon brings extensive experience working with everyone from ALS patients to pediatric populations, plus strong relationships across Florida’s CRT landscape. But what really sold us was his belief that education starts with deep product knowledge and his willingness to challenge assumptions about when certain technologies are and aren’t appropriate.”
