Kay Koch Is Invacare’s New Clinical Rehab Education Manager

February 26, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

Invacare Corp. has tapped Kay Koch, OTR/L, ATP, as its new clinical rehab education manager, the mobility and DME manufacturer has announced.

In its announcement, Invacare noted that Koch, who graduated from Ohio State University’s occupational therapy program and achieved ATP certification in 1996, had worked for 13 years with Mobility Designs in Atlanta in education, accreditation and training. Mobility Designs was acquired by Numotion last year.

Koch was named a RESNA Fellow in 2013. The Rehabilitation Engineering & Assistive Technology Society of North America gives the Fellow award to industry veterans “for their significant contributions to the field of assistive technology and to the RESNA organization.”

Koch, whose specialty has been pediatric seating, positioning and mobility, worked at the Assistive Technology Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for nine years and managed the seating & mobility clinic at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital in Dallas for four years. She also has done DME and complex rehab accreditation surveys for The Joint Commission for more than seven years. Koch, a frequent presenter at educational conferences such as RESNA’s and the International Seating Symposium, has been a volunteer advisor for the Fragile Kids Foundation, an organization devoted to supporting medically fragile children.
