Industry veteran Lois Brown, MPT, ATP/SMS, CRTS, has joined LUCI to lead the company’s upcoming commercial introduction in Canada.
In a press release, LUCI — manufacturer of smart power wheelchair technology — said Brown would “lead LUCI’s market expansion into Canada, wearing multiple hats that will span national sales, education, and customer satisfaction. Lois will also offer clinical education support to portions of the U.S., joining Lindsey Sharpe to expand LUCI’s accredited education offerings.”
Brown, a long-time clinical educator, has worked in the Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) industry in a number of different roles. She’s worked as a clinician at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital and at MossRehab, both in Pennsylvania. Brown has also worked for CRT manufacturers, including Pride Mobility Products and Invacare Corp., and CRT providers, including National Seating & Mobility and Numotion.
For her new role at LUCI, Brown, who’s served as an ATP and clinical education manager in Australia for the last nine years, will relocate to Toronto at the end of this year.
“I am thrilled that someone with such an extensive clinical and business background is moving across the world to join our team,” said Tom Borcherding, LUCI’s senior vice president of business development. “Her hire showcases LUCI’s commitment to build a world-class organization with leading clinical and technology professionals.”
“On the heels of LUCI winning the Harding Award for the best innovation at the recently concluded Canadian Seating and Mobility Conference, I am excited to join Team LUCI and continue that momentum by showcasing LUCI’s exciting technology to clinicians, rehab technology professionals, and consumers throughout Canada,” Brown said.
LUCI’s capabilities include helping power chair riders to avoid collisions and drop-offs, thus promoting safer driving and greater rider independence. LUCI can also provide cloud-based communications and alerts to keep power chair riders and caregivers informed.
