Medline Educational Posters Show Pressure Injury Appearances on Dark, Light Skin
Free posters can help health-care professionals to recognize and stage various types of pressure injuries.

Poster shows pressure injury stages using apple and skin cross-section illustrations. This poster is shows injuries on dark skin.Medline’s free, downloadable and printable posters are designed to help health-care professionals identify and stage pressure injuries in patients of various skin tones.

The posters — Pressure Injury Staging As Easy as Apple P.I.E. (pressure injury explanation) — use illustrations of apples for different pressure injuries, from stage 1 through stage 4, plus unstageable and deep tissue pressure injuries. The apple illustrations are accompanied by illustrations of pressure injuries as they could appear as they affect cross sections of skin and soft tissues.

The set includes a poster for pressure injury staging for dark skin and a poster for light skin.

The Medline Skin Health web page provides additional resources, including educational articles, a poster on pressure injury contributing factors, and an ebook guide to performing in-depth skin assessments.
