In an April 9 news announcement, Microban — whose antimicrobial cleaners are bathroom staples — said the SoftSecure line “stands out as the only cushioned bath safety products with Microban antimicrobial technology on the market, delivering a superior combination of comfort and functionality. Microban’s technology helps protect products from the effects of degradation due to bacteria, mold and mildew, ensuring lasting quality and reliability for users. As an added layer of protection in the household cleaning process, the incorporation of antimicrobial technology also helps reduce strain on users of Soft Secure products and their caregivers.”

Microban technology has been built into the foam seats and backs of SoftSecure’s shower chairs and commode chairs.

Journey Health & Lifestyle, described as a “direct-to-consumer, premium-branded” company featuring health and lifestyle products and services to seniors, launched in September 2021. At its founding, its management team included Harvey Diamond and Richard Kolodny, cofounders of Drive Medical.

The company, which is based in Richmond, Virginia, also sells power and manual wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, lift chairs, beds, incontinence supplies, and adaptive clothing.
