Every seating veteran — clinician or provider — has worked with at least a few wheelchair riders who need their positioning components in exactly a certain place, with no room for compromise.
On top of that challenge, those components that position and support the pelvis, trunk, head, lower extremities and upper extremities need to stay securely in place as the wheelchair rolls over different terrains. If those components move for any reason, the wheelchair rider could lose the ability to control their devices or could slide into a posture that puts them at greater risk for pressure injuries or other musculoskeletal issues.
On Sept. 30, Mobility Management will host the webinar “When Nothing Else Works: Discover How the Modular Design of UniLink Solves the Most Complex Mounting Challenges,” sponsored by Stealth Products.
Ryan Cavender, Stealth Products’ technical support and education manager, and J.D. Concepcion, ATP, regional manager in the Great Lakes region and southeastern United States, will discuss the transformative power of customizable mounting solutions, and Stealth Products’ UniLink hardware, specifically designed to meet the needs that seating teams face every day.
Cavender, who graduated from the University of Texas Permian Basin with a degree in kinesiology, will discuss the need for customizable mounting solutions across a range of settings and applications. He will also discuss the client outcomes at stake, and how to create tailored configurations for clients with very precise positioning needs.
Concepcion, a graduate of West Virginia University, entered the rehabilitation industry in 1994, beginning with hand-on custom seating fabrication, orthotics and prosthetics for a provider in Colorado. Since then, Concepcion has worked for providers as well as manufacturers.
Registration for the live one-hour webinar — Sept. 30, starting at 12 noon Eastern — is free for industry professionals. Certificates of attendance will be available for eligible attendees.
