While Medicare’s far-reaching policies are frequently in the news, Medicaid programs have also been hit hard in this economy. And that’s significantly impacted funding for complex rehab.
The National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART) has announced an upcoming two-day event that will focus on better understanding the Medicaid program, working effectively with individual state agencies and sharing case studies and strategies.
The meeting will take place Sept. 29-30 at the Marriott Airport Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.
“Given the financial pressures states are feeling, we are seeing increased activities to reduce coverage and payment for complex rehab technology,” says NCART Executive Director Don Clayback. “And this will continue.”
The Medicaid Summit, Clayback says, will feature presentations on such topics as Medicaid regulations, laws and legal resources; supplier responsibilities and rights; a “state of the states” review of NCART’s national Medicaid Survey; Medicaid case studies; developing your state Medicaid plan; and sharing information and resources.
Clayback says the registration fee is $199 per attendee, and NCART has secured room prices of $119 per night at the host hotel.
Registration details for the Medicaid Summit will be released in July.
