Suppliers who fax redetermination requests to National Government Services (NGS), the Jurisdiction B DME MAC, are reminded to include only one reopening or redetermination request per transmission.
If more than one request needs to be sent, NGS requires suppliers to send one request, then disconnect the fax transmission before starting a new transmission to send the next request.
Additional requests should be sent one at a time, with the transmissions being disconnected after each request is sent. NGS says that if multiple requests are sent in a single fax transmission, it “may result in a mismatch of documentation/request, a delay in processing the request, or a missed reopening/redetermination request(s).”
Separate fax cover sheets should be included as well, NGS indicated.
