DME and complex rehab technology suppliers working with Medicare’s Jurisdiction A DME MAC now have an alternative to faxing and mailing documents related to reopening and redetermination requests.
NHIC Corp. announced in an Aug. 5 bulletin that its Internet-based Provider Services Portal (PSP) “now has the capability to submit and obtain status for reopenings and redeterminations.”
As providers review details about claims in the system, NHIC says the new reopening and redetermination option “allows you to create your forms and submit via the PSP. The PSP also allows for the submission of additional documentation to support your request.”
Using the PSP, providers can check beneficiary eligibility, check on the status of claims, print copies of remittances, and check a beneficiary’s history to look for same/similar equipment.
