Providers in Jurisdiction A: Get ready to say good-bye to hard-copy acknowledgement letters from NHIC Corp.
Starting April 1, the Jurisdiction A DME MAC will stop sending acknowledgement letters as confirmation that it’s received redetermination requests.
Instead of the letters, NHIC said in a bulletin yesterday that providers can check the status of redetermination requests from the DME MAC’s Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system within 10 days of the DME MAC’s receipt of the redetermination request.
If providers check the IVR system and are told that the system cannot find their redetermination requests, NHIC suggests contacting customer service via phone at (866) 590-6731 and asking for a status update. The IVR system may be unable to locate a redetermination request, NHIC says, if it is pending in the system as a reopening case.
