Nor-Cal Mobility is opening the doors of an accessible apartment to customers who visit and then need lodging for the night.
Citing a “long list of customers who drive hundreds of miles for service and to view the nearly 100 accessible vehicles for sale,” Nor-Cal owners Ellen and Ken Karasinski converted one of their rental properties into a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, accessible apartment. The universal design apartment includes a remote entry system, extra-wide doorways and hallways, a roll-in shower and a walk-in bathtub, an accessible backyard and an overhead patient lift in the bedroom. Nor-Cal visitors can stay free of charge overnight; the apartment can also be rented by the day or week.
Said Ken Karasinski, “It’s difficult for people to find a handicapped-accessible room here in Chico (about 90 miles north of Sacramento, Calif.). Our customers are extremely important to us, and we want to offer the absolute highest levels of quality customer service.”
