NRRTS Begins Executive Director Search

September 1, 2006 by Mobility Management

The National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (NRRTS) has begun looking for an executive director to replace Judy Vance, who will retire in August 2007.

Vance acts as the organization’s chief staff officer and is responsible for the leadership, management and direction of all NRRTS operations, programs, activities and affairs. The executive director reports directly to the NRRTS president and board of directors.

Major responsibilities include organizing and moderating all conference calls and meetings, and keeping minutes of those meetings; providing consistent communication with the board of directors and NRRTS registrants, including via the NRRTS newsletter and e-newsletter; scheduling and holding annual elections of officers; and establishing educational opportunities for NRRTS registrants and allied healthcare professionals.

The executive director also represents NRRTS at such industry events as Medtrade and the International Seating Symposium, and works with other organizations, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART). The executive director facilitates the development of long-range vision, mission and strategic planning in cooperation with the board of directors.

Qualified candidates are invited submit resumes, references and salary requirements to NRRTS, P.O. Box 4033, Lago Vista, TX 78645-4033. Direct questions about the executive director position to current NRRTS president Mike Seidel at [email protected].

NRRTS will be in booth 329 at Medtrade in Atlanta. For more information on NRRTS’ mission and its educational and professional standards for rehab technology suppliers, visit www.nrrts.org.
