NRRTS & Unite4CRT Announce Schedule for CRT Awareness Consumer Day

September 16, 2021 by Laurie Watanabe

National CRT Awareness Week is Sept. 20-24, and Thursday, Sept. 23, is officially Consumer Day, with the focus turning to the adults and children who use Complex Rehab Technology (CRT).

NRRTS and Unite4CRT have a full day of activities, conversations and education planned for Sept. 23 — and all CRT stakeholders are invited to take part.

The day starts at 9 a.m. Eastern time with the panel discussion “Mobility: Exploring the Wheelchair User’s World.”

According to the Unite4CRT description of this session, “The language used to describe wheelchairs may help or hinder people’s perception of this life-changing equipment and its importance to independence. In this session we will hear from wheelchair users and answer the question, ‘Why is my mobility important?’”

The panel will be moderated by Numotion Brand Ambassador Karen Roy. Panelists include Jenny Border, Tamara Kittelson, Chris Collin, Madonna Long, Ali Ingersol, and Angie Kiger.

Many of the morning sessions are brief — just 15 minutes long — to fit more easily into viewers’ schedules. Morning sessions include “Come Roll With Me,” presented by Cathy Carver; “The Canadian Perspective,” presented by Linda Norton; “Traveling with Your Wheelchair: What to Expect,” by Kelly Narowski; and “How to Write Your Own Letter of Medical Necessity,” by Ali Ingersol.

Starting at 12 noon Eastern is “From Advocate to Activist: Make Your Voice Heard,” a panel moderated by Bill Noelting. Panelists include Jean Minkel, Kyle Romano, Jenny Siegle, Molly Hale, Ali Ingersol, Sharifa Abu-Hamda, John Box, and Jenn Wolff.

Longer afternoon session, ranging from 45 to 60 minutes each, include “Family Focus: Tools You Can Use”; “Best of NRRTS Webinars, Best of Unite4CRT Conversations, The Value of NRRTS”; “Connecting with Your Seating Team: Are You in the Driver’s Seat?”; “The Power of Your Mobility”; and “Access: Strategies for Success.”

All sessions are free to attend, and participants can join in at any time during the day. Click HERE to see the complete Sept. 23 schedule; register HERE.
