NSM Announces Expansions in Carolinas & Ohio

March 27, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) has expanded again.

In news announcements, NSM said it has acquired LiveWell Medical Corp., established in 2005 and based in Charlotte, N.C. With the acquisition, NSM gains two new branch offices in Charlotte and in Greenville, S.C.

Scott Staley, ATP, from the Charlotte office and Scott Ray, ATP, from the Greenville office have both joined NSM.

Staley, a 30-year veteran of the complex rehab technology industry, is the former owner of LiveWell Medical. He now heads the new Charlotte office for NSM.

With these two new locations, NSM now operates nine offices in the Carolinas. The company had existing North Carolina offices in Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh and Valdese. In South Carolina, NSM had locations in Charleston, Columbia and Easley.

Bill Mixon, CEO of NSM, said of the new offices, “NSM is proud to continue to grow our reach with this acquisition. We look forward to working with area therapists and physicians to further the availability of innovative mobility solutions for individuals with disabilities and health challenges in the Carolinas.”

Last week, NSM also announced it had acquired Access Quip, an accessibility company in Toledo, Ohio.

Former owners Troy Nungester and Chris Ray have joined NSM.

While NSM had existing branches in Cleveland, Columbus, Toledo and Youngstown, Ohio, the new Toledo location is the first NSM office in the state to specialize in accessibility.

That addition gives NSM an accessibility presence in Northwest Ohio.

“NSM’s growing home and vehicle accessibility division is an integral part of our commitment to 360-degree client independence,” said Mixon. “We are excited to partner with the experienced Access Quip team, and look forward to providing a full-scope of accessibility solutions to clients throughout Northwest Ohio.”
