NSM Continues Mobility & Accessibility Expansion

November 3, 2021 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) continues to expand on both the Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) and the accessibility fronts.

The provider’s latest acquisition is Comfort N Mobility, located in Gulf Breeze, Fla. A Nov. 2 news announcement said Comfort N Mobility specializes in “a wide variety of mobility products and serves individuals throughout the Florida panhandle.”

Comfort N Mobility was owned by Jared and Jenna Whipkey. The news announcement noted that Jared, a former Florida State University quarterback, worked in Florida-area hospitals, focusing first on finance. He held positions as Controller and Chief Financial Officer for Santa Rosa Medical Center and Barrow Regional Medical Center before acquiring and operating Comfort N Mobility. In 2018, Jared earned his ATP credential; at NSM, he will be the manager and lead ATP of the company’s Pensacola branch.

In addition to providing CRT services, the Pensacola office will also expand to offer home accessibility services, NSM said.

Bill Mixon, NSM’s CEO, said in the announcement, “At NSM, our desire is to help people achieve independence by ensuring they have access to the most advanced mobility and accessibility solutions available, a commitment Comfort N Mobility shares. This acquisition positions us to better serve clients across the Florida panhandle and help them attain their independence goals.”

Comfort N Mobility is the 12th acquisition for NSM this year.
