NSM Expands in British Columbia

August 28, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) is expanding its reach in western Canada.

On Aug. 14, NSM announced that British Columbia-based SelfCare is expanding into Abbotsford, a city outside of Vancouver.

Joining the new Abbotsford SelfCare office is RTS Jason Clarke, former owner of the Ability in Motion provider business.

In the news announcement, Clarke said, “I’m excited about SelfCare’s access to NSM’s educational platform, industry-leading training courses and seminars. I am looking forward to new opportunities with this growing company, including the ability to obtain a RESNA ATP certification.”

NSM’s CEO, Bill Mixon, said of this latest expansion, “As we continue our growth into Canada, we’re proud to partner with industry leaders who are deeply rooted in their communities. We’re pleased to add Jason to our team.”

In January, NSM announced it had acquired SelfCare Home Health Products, located in Vancouver. The acquisition marked NSM’s first location in Canada. At that time, NSM described SelfCare as a “multi-site mobility equipment and home accessibility services provider serving the Lower Mainland of British Columbia” and said the company employed 60 staffers in four locations.
