NSM Expands in Northern California

May 21, 2018 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) has expanded its presence in California by acquiring Western Rehab.

With the purchase, NSM adds two Northern California locations in Santa Rosa and Paradise/Chico.

In a news announcement, NSM said Western Rehab owner Mark Hawkins had joined the national provider, along with three ATPs, who will continue to work from their offices at 3535 Industrial Drive in Santa Rosa and 6457 Skyway in Paradise.

Western Rehab was founded in 1993 and has focused on pediatric seating and mobility.

Bill Mixon, NSM’s CEO, said of the latest acquisition, “Our vision is to honor the journey of independence for individuals with mobility challenges. Expanding our service reach in Northern California allows us to impact more lives with mobility solutions that drive independence. We look forward to working alongside health professionals to serve these communities.”

Mixon also praised Hawkins and his team, and referred to Hawkins as “iconic in the field of CRT [complex rehab technology] in California.”

Hawkins said, “NSM’s client-centric culture ensures that we can continue to do the right things for our clients. The company’s resources, systems and processes allow us to bring advanced mobility solutions to those who need them. We are honored to be a part of this growing national network of industry-leading professionals.”
