NSM Names New Chief Information Officer

August 7, 2015 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) has named Steve Penny its new Chief Information Officer.

In an Aug. 3 news release, NSM said Penny, who most recently served as Chief Technology Officer for Ardent Health Services in Nashville, Tenn., was joining the national providership “at a time of rapid corporate growth.”

With Penny now on board, NSM said Bill Noelting, who had been the company’s Chief Information Officer and VP of marketing, would be able “to focus solely on NSM’s marketing initiatives.”

Noelting said of the new appointment, “We look forward to adding Mr. Penny’s expertise and background to our IT team. His focus will enhance the integrity of our technology services to a fast-growing list of internal and external customers.”

Penny’s responsibilities will include directing the company’s IT infrastructure services and architecture, which will encompass operations, security, network management and voice communications.

At its national symposium in July, NSM Executive Chairman Mike Ballard announced the providership had nearly 100 branch offices throughout the United States.

“We’re excited to have Steve join the NSM team,” said NSM CEO/President Bill Mixon. “We are confident that he’s the right executive to continue to drive our IT strategy in support of our field and corporate operations. I also want to thank Bill Noelting for his many years of outstanding leadership of the IT function and look forward to Bill continuing as the senior VP of marketing and strategy.”
