NSM Purchases Advantage Mobility & Medical Equipment

September 4, 2014 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility (NSM) has added a new location in Oklahoma City.

The providership has announced the acquisition of Advantage Mobility & Medical Equipment, founded in 2005 and owned by Tom and Amy Hoover. In addition to seating & mobility, Advantage Mobility is known for its home accessibility equipment and service offerings.

A news announcement of the acquisition noted that the eight staff members of Advantage Mobility will continue to work at the new NSM branch.

Tom Hoover becomes the branch manager while also serving as one of the office’s three ATPs. Three technicians and two office administrators round out the staff.

“Our greatest areas of expertise are pediatrics and custom molds,” Hoover said. “As a team, we provide 45 years of experience in the complex rehab technology industry, and we’re excited to add our passion to the NSM family.”

The new NSM office will continue to do business out of its 1845 W. Reno Avenue location.

In July, NSM announced that Bill Mixon had taken over as its new president. NSM founder Mike Ballard remains the company’s CEO.
