NSM’s New Funding Portal Optimizes, Triages Order Process

December 9, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

National Seating & Mobility’s (NSM) new funding portal synchronizes the ordering process “to more effectively facilitate approvals required for equipment orders.”

In a news announcement, NSM said the portal was introduced as a pilot program in the spring of 2019, then was rolled out in phases by region. The funding portal became available nationwide in November 2019.

The portal advances order approval steps in real time and triages orders, “prioritizing critical scenarios and diagnoses.” It has an automated structure that assists with order management, but funding specialists retain the ability to personally initiate tasks and tweak prioritizations to move orders along at an even swifter pace.

Bill Mixon, NSM’s CEO, lauded the system’s ability to help the provider’s funding specialists be as efficient as possible. “The Funding Portal automates the complex order approval process for our funding specialists so they can more easily track, obtain and submit the time-sensitive documents required for the submission of client orders,” Mixon said. “This new system reinforces our commitment to best-in-class service, enhancing productivity and prioritizing tasks to keep orders moving. It is the only software at this level of sophistication being utilized in our industry.”

The funding portal’s software is integrated with NSM’s mynsmorder.com, an order-tracking dashboard introduced in 2019 to help NSM’s clients keep up with their equipment orders every step of the way.

Charles Sargeant, NSM’s Senior VP of Field Operations Support, said, “This custom-developed software, teamed with our total care approach aligning each client with one funding specialist throughout the order process, translates to a seamless, more expedient delivery of complex rehab equipment to those who need it.”
