Permobil has confirmed its ongoing support of the ALS Association (ALSA) by signing on as a national Walk Team, the complex rehab power chair manufacturer has announced.
Among the projects that Permobil will support is May’s National ALS Awareness Month and the Walk to Defeat ALS. That campaign raises more than $20 million annually.
Permobil has been a corporate sponsor of ALSA since 2006.
“Our ongoing support of the ALS Association is unfaltering, as is their fight to find a cure for this devastating disease,” said Larry Jackson, president of Permobil, in a news release about the sponsorship. “We encourage others to get involved in this great cause as well and to participate in a walk in their local area.”
Permobil Marketing Manager Barry Steelman added, “This year we will focus our sponsorship efforts more directly to local chapters at the same time working with corporate offices for sponsorship of national events.”
The mission of ALSA is to lead the fight to treat and cure amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, popularly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, through research, and to empower ALS patients and their families to live fuller lives through compassionate care and support.
