Permobil Debuts New American Web Site

November 1, 2006 by Mobility Management

Americans may complain about too many commercials on TV, but the fact is we love great marketing.

Recognizing that truth, Permobil’s American Web site has been revamped to more closely match the unique needs, questions and preferences of American visitors, whether professionals or end-users. The new site can be reached directly via www.permobilusa.net, but to see how truly unique the American site is compared to its international counterparts, go to www.permobil.com, and click on the American flag after clicking on some of the others.

The American site made a splashy debut at September’s Medtrade in Atlanta, with Web visitors able to tune in and view live footage from the show floor and the introduction of Permobil’s RS seating system. In fact, if you missed the RS intro or want to see the highlights again, go to the Web site to watch Ann Eubank’s product presentation.

Other Web site features designed to make life easier for rehab professionals include a funding page with coding references; pediatric funding guides and industry updates; an educational seminars section that shows course schedules and offers online registration for subjects such as repairs and seating; and downloadable order forms. Coming soon: a feature called Build a Letter of Medical Necessity (you fill out an online form, and the Web site creates the letter).

For consumers, the site offers a product section that enables visitors to scout out the right Permobil products based on four functions: Simply Search, Narrow Your Search, Take the Tour and Search by Diagnosis. There are also case studies to view, a look at the Custom Shop, and chances to view Permobil’s award-winning ads and videos.

Permobil’s government affairs guru, Darren Jernigan, has his own section called D.J.’s Corner, with archives of articles about legislative and consumer issues.

The new site is full of professional-caliber information, but &#151 in recognition of Americans’ love for an overall experience when cybersurfing &#151 Permobil has also designed the Web site to encourage a sense of community and fun.
