The Corpus C500 power wheelchair donated by Permobil and used by actor James Woods to portray an ALS patient last year on the hit TV series “ER” has been won by Mary Finke, an ALS patient herself.
Finke submitted the winning bid for the chair during an auction by the ALS Association, to whom the chair had been donated after filming on the “ER” episode concluded. The power chair, which was signed by Woods and “ER” cast members, also includes an eye-gaze communications system donated by Eye Response Technologies and used by Woods’ character in the episode.
Finke will take ownership of her new chair on Saturday, Oct. 14, as part of an ALS Association event in Lincoln, Neb.
