Permobil has launched updates for its SmartDrive power-assist firmware and software, now available for download via the PushTracker mobile app or the SmartDrive MX2+ wearable apps.
In an April 30 announcement, Permobil said, “SmartDrive Firmware v3.2 expands the zero position for the SpeedControl Dial, resulting in a larger window for a successful and smooth stop of the unit. As a result of this update, users may need to rotate the dial forward several additional clicks when initiating movement.”

Permobil added that additional product updates will be released later this year.
The SmartDrive MX2+ is a power-assist add-on system for manual wheelchairs. “SmartDrive offers a range of controls to deliver a seamless power-assist experience, providing an opportunity for 80% fewer pushes,” the Permobil website said.
