When Wayne Grau of NCART first visited the Abilities International Accessibility Conference, he was struck not by what was familiar, but what to even him — an industry insider — was new.
“One (thing) that amazed me was there was a toy manufacturer specifically for individuals with with certain disabilities,” says Grau, Executive Director of NCART. “I didn’t even know that existed. (The conference) just opened my eyes.”
Grau has been so moved by the work at the Abilities conference that he is joining for the three conferences in 2026, co-located with the Abilities Expo in Los Angeles, New York Metro and Chicago. Grau and Katy Roberts, Managing Director of the Abilities Portfolio, recently joined host Jack Silverstein of the Mobility Management podcast to discuss the upcoming conferences.
