Mobility Management’s Feb. 10 policy innovation webinar will feature an all-star lineup of clinicians and policy experts — Theresa Berner, MOT, OTR/L, ATP; Tamara Kittelson, MS, OTR/L, ATP/SMS; and Julie Piriano, PT, ATP/SMS — to discuss a range of policy issues impacting wheelchair provision.
These changes — including the elimination of ICD-10 codes tied to seating, and revisions to prior authorization policies for replacement equipment — could give clinicians and seating team members greater flexibility to choose technology that optimally aligns with clients’ needs and goals. But these new policies also eliminate some of the guidelines and guardrails that could be helpful to clinicians who are less familiar with CRT.
Also on the webinar agenda: Circling back to the bills that would restore common-sense access to ultralightweight wheelchair frame upgrades, and checking the progress on power standing’s national coverage analysis. And the presentation will look at CMS’s clarification of non-expandable and expandable electronics in the power mobility device and wheelchair options and accessories policy articles.
Plus, experts will discuss HCPCS code updates, from changes to power-assist descriptions; to new codes for mounting hardware; to learning what the new wheelchair transportation/transit securement systems codes are all about.
Join Mobility Management Editor in Chief Laurie Watanabe on Tues., Feb. 10, starting at 12 noon Eastern time.
Registration is free, and the one-hour webinar will include a live Q&A session as part of the program.
