The United States will host the world’s best power wheelchair soccer teams this week at the Powerchair Football World Cup in Kissimmee, Fla.
Competition begins July 5, and play continues through July 9. Ten teams are expected to participate at the Silver Spurs Arena at Osceola Heritage Park.
This is the first time the United States is hosting the World Cup event, but the American team won the first two World Cups, which were contested in Tokyo (2006) and Paris (2011).
Admission to the matches is free, but the World Cup organizers will be accepting donations from fans.
Teams from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Ireland, Japan, the United States and Uruguay are competing for the Cup. To watch matches live, click HERE. The first match, between the United States and Denmark, starts at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time on July 5.
