The summer series featured the work of Amit Gefen, Ph.D., biomedical engineering professor at Tel Aviv University. Drawing from his engineering background, Gefen used laboratory-grown tissue samples and computer extrapolation to study how, why and when pressure damages tissues inside the body, where such injuries can be difficult or impossible to detect and observe.
