Pride Mobility Products has opened a lift chair manufacturing facility in Pontotoc, Miss.
In a news announcement, Pride said the new plant would produce “the highest-quality lift chairs in the market, using state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, quality-control processes and local craftsmen.”
Known as Pride Mississippi, the facility currently has approximately 100 employees.
Joe O’Brien, Pride’s senior VP of global manufacturing, said of the new plant, “We listen to our providers and know the exceptional quality demanded in the lift chair market. We realize that the only way to achieve a win-win for all is to stay true to our 30-year roots in lift chairs, and evolve our wholly owned, vertically integrated manufacturing here in the United States via Pride Mississippi.”
The results, he added, “are proving phenomenal in every aspect.”
Lift chairs made at the Pontotoc facility will begin arriving at suppliers’ locations in early November, and Pride said the majority of its lift chairs will be manufactured in Mississippi by January 1, 2017.
Patrick Ramsey, Pride’s director of manufacturing, added, “We’re proud to continue demonstrating through three decades of manufacturing lift chairs that wholly ‘Made in the USA’ creates superior product outcomes.”
