Quantum Rehab Launches TRU-Balance 4 Powered Seating

November 30, 2022 by Laurie Watanabe

Quantum Rehab’s new powered seating system adds anterior tilt to the power wheelchair manufacturer’s portfolio.

Stretto power chair with TRU-Balance 4 powered seating is shown tilted forward.TRU-Balance 4, a seating system that lets seating teams choose 10, 20, or 30 degrees of power anterior tilt to support activities of daily living made easier by the ability to tilt forward.

TRU-Balance 4 also offers up to eight customizable memory seating positions, a feature that “utilizes feedback to recognize positioning and recalls the saved position of all actuators,” the news announcement said. “It offers the choice of sequential or synced movement for each seat function.”

TRU-Balance 4’s Articulating Foot Platform (AFP) lowers to facilitate transfers. “The dual actuator AFP has an articulation range of 0 to 7.25 inches and an elevation range of 85 to 165 degrees,” Quantum said.

Jay Brislin, Quantum Rehab’s VP, said in the announcement, “There is lots of excitement around our launch of TRU-Balance 4, especially power anterior tilt, because it can help users with functional activities. TRU-Balance 4 also offers eight customizable memory seating positions, whereas other manufacturers have preset positions. This makes TRU-Balance 4 seating truly customizable to serve patients with a variety of needs.”

Available on Quantum Rehab’s Stretto, Edge 3, and 4Front 2 power chairs, the TRU-Balance 4 system requires “the selection of power adjustable seat height, power anterior tilt, power posterior tilt, power recline, and a dual actuator power articulating foot platform,” the announcement said.
