Quantum Rehab to Partner with Reeve Foundation

October 11, 2019 by Laurie Watanabe

Quantum Rehab will be partnering with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to “shed light on the importance of mobility systems to find the right wheelchair that will increase independence and overall quality of life,” According to an Oct. 11 news announcement.

The foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, says its core beliefs include “empowering those affected by paralysis with the best knowledge, resources and support.”

Quantum Rehab will be providing content including blogs, social media posts and stories for the foundation’s Web site.

“It is our privilege to begin working with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation,” said Megan Kutch, Quantum Rehab’s Director of Marketing. “Our products address both the mobility and lifestyle needs of those living with paralysis. Quantum shares the Foundation’s dedication to improving quality of life for individuals living with paralysis providing mobility products, information and advocacy specific toward the needs of those with mobility challenges.”

Aimee Hunnewell, Chief Development Officer for the foundation, said of the partnership, “At the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, we are proud to partner with corporate allies who understand the needs of the paralysis community and are committed to building a brighter future. Finding the right wheelchair is critically important to the well-being and independence of individuals living with paralysis. We are excited to collaborate with Quantum Rehab to help educate and empower our community with information that will benefit their overall quality of life.”

The Christopher Reeve Foundation was created following a 1995 accident in which Reeve sustained a severe spinal cord injury. When Reeve died in 2004, his wife, Dana, took over as Chair of the foundation’s board. After Dana’s death in 2006, the organization was renamed the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

The Reeves’ son, Will, and Christopher Reeve’s son and daughter, Matthew and Alexandra, sit on the foundation’s board.
