Quantum Rehab’s Q Roll Model Contest Now Accepting Entries

June 21, 2023 by Laurie Watanabe

The 2023 Q Roll Model contest from Quantum Rehab is now underway.

In a June 14 news announcement, Quantum Rehab said it “is dedicated to being the premier global innovator of consumer-inspired Complex Rehab mobility technologies. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce the return of our Q Roll Model contest for 2023.

“We’re searching for two awesome, diverse, and relatable wheelchair users from across the country to join our passionate team of brand ambassadors.”

Q Roll Model contest winners receive a three-month paid contract and a Quantum Rehab power wheelchair with iLevel adjustable seat height technology, with full service also included at no extra cost.

The contest is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years and older, as well as children 10 and older who have permission to enter from a parent or guardian.

Stephanie Woodward, Quantum Rehab’s Brand Ambassador Coordinator, said in the announcement, “Quantum Rehab’s commitment to the Disability Community goes beyond designing and producing innovative power wheelchairs that allow us to live our best lives. We know that there is no one type of wheelchair user, and we’re dedicated to creating wheelchairs that are as unique as the people who sit in them every day. That is what makes this contest so exciting — we’re able to bring on new team members to represent Quantum Rehab and whose lived experience as wheelchair users can help us to continuously move the bar forward for power wheelchair technology.”

Participants can enter by completing the contest form, then following Quantum Rehab on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok. Contestants also need to “post a video or photo(s) of yourself on social media, explaining how having a Quantum Rehab power wheelchair with iLevel would help you live your best life. Be sure to tag Quantum and use the hashtag #QRollModelSearch.”

Entries will be judged according to public voting and reactions, such as likes, comments and reTweets (10 percent); photo and/or video content (30 percent); and explanations of how iLevel would help contestants live their best lives (60 percent).

Former contest winner Izzie Bullock from Belleville, Mich., said of her experience, “Winning the Q Roll Model contest in 2019 positively impacted my life by helping me become proud of my disability. Before the contest, I barely ever posted photos where my wheelchair was visible. After I started posting about my wheelchair, I saw that there were other people who related to my experiences and that I was not alone.”

Jill Moore of Minneapolis, also a former contest winner, said, “Winning the Q Roll Model contest two years ago impacted my quality of life so much more than I could have ever imagined. Prior to receiving my chair, I hadn’t had much experience with assistive technology, and it’s been so empowering to experience the difference in my daily life.”

And former winner Merlisha Henderson from Scottsdale, Ariz., said, “My life has been transformed since I have been living at iLevel. As a mother and wife, I was restricted and limited in the things I used to do before [winning the contest]. After experiencing the iLevel functionality, I found I was able to cook, do laundry, and shop independently again.”

Entries must be received by Aug. 13.
