Complex Rehabilitation Technology (CRT) provider Rehab Medical has acquired Consolidated Medical, based in Windsor, New York.

Indianapolis-based Rehab Medical and its CEO, Patrick McGinley, made the announcement on Jan. 21. The acquisition was finalized on Jan. 1.

The deal “establishes Rehab Medical’s first location in the northeastern United States and marks the company’s 31st office across 19 states,” the announcement added.

The news release noted that Consolidated Medical “has served New York communities for more than 50 years, earning a reputation for personalized care, clinical expertise and long-term patient relationships. Through this acquisition, patients and providers will continue working with the same local team while gaining access to Rehab Medical’s expanded resources, specialized mobility expertise and nationwide infrastructure.”

“Choosing Rehab Medical was about protecting our patients and ensuring they continue to receive the same level of care they’ve trusted for decades,” said Consolidated Medical CEO Doug Crana said in the announcement. “This partnership allows our legacy to continue, while giving patients access to additional resources that support their long-term mobility and independence.”

Rehab Medical said there would be “no disruption to care” and that current clients “will continue receiving service, support and equipment from the same local professionals.” The entire Consolidated Medical team has joined Rehab Medical.

On the Rehab Medical side, Vice President of Regional Sales Jason Neu will provide sales leadership, and Vice President of Field Operations Ryan Weinrich will manage operational support.

“This acquisition represents a shared commitment to people-first care,” said McGinley. “Consolidated Medical has an extraordinary legacy, and our responsibility is to honor that trust while expanding access to high-quality Complex Rehab services for New York communities.”

Richard Crana founded Consolidated Medical in 1974. His father, Salvatore Cracchiolo, was a master cobbler in his native Sicily and did pioneering work in the field of orthotics — a specialty that later inspired Richard’s career path.

Doug Crana, one of Richard’s sons, is an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) who holds certification from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthics and is a member of the International Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers (iNRRTS) — took over Consolidated Medical in 1992.

In addition to CRT, Consolidated Medical provides vehicle lifts and ramps, stairlifts, orthotics and prosthetics.
