Rehab Medical Now Serving Cleveland

April 19, 2023 by Laurie Watanabe

Rehab Medical is now serving people with disabilities who live in Cleveland.

In an April 3 news release, the Complex Rehab Technology (CRT) provider announced the expansion, saying that clients in Cleveland “now have access to [Rehab Medical’s] specialized mobility services. This now makes Rehab Medical the largest CRT provider in the state [of Ohio].”

Rehab Medical President Kevin Gearheart said in the announcement, “Rehab Medical has a strong presence in the state of Ohio, and this expansion allows us to close the last gap and cover the entire state. This expansion also exemplifies our intentional focus on culture and internal growth. We promoted key employees to move to Cleveland to continue our focus on service excellence and customer care.”

In the announcement, Rehab Medical noted that nearly 16 percent of the people in Cleveland are living with disabilities, according to U.S. Census Bureau information. “With this move, the company can now offer specialized mobility services to those facing mobility challenges,” Rehab Medical said. “For more than a decade, Rehab Medical has provided custom mobility solutions designed to provide mobility freedom and independence. The company advocates on behalf of its customers to help them obtain equipment through their insurance provider, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies. Their goal is to improve the lives of its customers by helping them navigate the complex process of obtaining specialized mobility equipment through their insurance.”

A staff of nine now works in the Cleveland office, including Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) who “will focus on complex conditions and conduct specialized evaluations to mold and shape equipment to suit the individual’s unique needs.”

“Now that we are operating in Cleveland, we look forward to serving the great people of Cleveland, Ohio, in our quest to improve lives,” said Keith Hawkins, Rehab Medical Vice President of Sales.

The announcement added that Rehab Medical will have additional news in May about expanding in Georgia and Louisiana.

In addition to CRT, Rehab Medical provides DME such as scooters and manual wheelchairs. The provider is headquartered in Indianapolis, and has offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.
