The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) is calling for session abstracts for its 2025 conference, May 12-16 in Chicago.
In a Sept. 30 bulletin, RESNA said it is currently accepting proposals for 30-minute buzz sessions and 60-minute general sessions.
Buzz sessions were described as 30-minute presentations “devoted to one hot topic; this may include one speaker, a panel of speakers, a hands-on demonstration, a show-and-tell, or any other creative format.”
The hour-long general sessions are “interactive and make use of audience participation and group activities as a primary mechanism for knowledge transfer. Think audience polling, expert panelists in a Q&A format, show and tell, or any other creative format.”
The bulletin said RESNA would call for scientific papers and posters and student scientific papers in the near future. Student Design Challenge and Developer’s Showcase 2025 information will also be shared soon.
Co-locating with RehabWeek in Chicago
The 2025 iteration of the RESNA conference is part of RehabWeek 2025, which “will bring together eight societies and organizations in the field of rehabilitation and assistive technology from all over the world,” the organization said. “The conference will include common keynote lectures and panel discussions. In addition, each society will hold its own conference-specific sessions.”
Attendees will be free to attend any of the participating conferences. Besides RESNA, the other conferences that will be part of RehabWeek 2025 are the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine; the International Consortium for Rehabilitation Robotics; the International Industry Society in Advanced Rehabilitation Technology; the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society; the International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation; Masterclass in Neurotechnology; and MotusAcademy (continuing education in the field of advanced robotics technology for rehabilitation).
RehabWeek will take place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk. RehabWeek registration opens in November.
