Rita Hostak, VP of government relations for Sunrise Medical, has been named an Honorary Fellow by the National Registry of Rehab Technology Suppliers (NRRTS).
Hostak becomes only the third person to receive the honor, following physical therapist and first NRRTS President Adrienne Bergen and current NRRTS Executive Director Simon Margolis.
NRRTS President John Zona, in announcing the award, said the Honorary Fellowship recognizes individuals who have provided extraordinary service to NRRTS and/or to the rehab community or industry.
Margolis called Hostak “a very special individual.” He added that when Hostak accepted the award, she said, “I am honored to serve the complex rehab industry. I have a passion for defending access to appropriate technology and services and am grateful that I can do this every day. Soon, very soon, we deserve a monumental win!”
Hostak has served as president of the National Coalition for Assistive & Rehab Technology (NCART) and currently sits on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Program Advisory & Oversight Committee (PAOC) concerning competitive bidding. Hostak has worked for Sunrise Medical since 1982 in sales, sales management and – for 16 years – in government relations, including the legislative side of reimbursement.
