In a 70-26 vote this afternoon, the Senate voted to override President Bush’s veto of H.R. 6331.
The bill that now becomes law will halt the competitive bidding program in its current state and postpone its usage, which began July 1 in the first 10 competitive bidding areas. H.R. 6331 also exempts complex power rehab from the competitive bidding program.
The Senate override followed the House’s overwhelming 383-41 override earlier today. Bush had vetoed the bill this morning.
