Shepherd Center Webinar to Demonstrate WC-FIT Assessment Tool
The Feb. 17 presentation is free to attend.

January 14, 2026 by Laurie Watanabe

The Wheelchair Functional Impact Tool (WC-FIT) has an illustrious origin story, having been developed by Shepherd Center seating and wheeled mobility clinicians, including Mandy McDonald, MS, OTL, ATP, and Tori Fallgren, PT, DPT, NCS, ATP, as well as Stephen Sprigle, Ph.D., PT, professor of the School of Industrial Design & School of Mechanical Engineering, the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Its goal, however, is practical and straightforward: To help both clinicians and wheelchair riders to better assess and understand the factors they should consider when making seating and wheeled mobility choices. The approachable, everyday language used by WC-FIT makes it user friendly for clinicians, consumers and caregivers who might not be wheelchair experts.

Shepherd Center and the team behind WC-FIT will present a webinar on Tues., Feb. 17, starting at 12 noon Eastern time to introduce the system and demonstrate how it works. The hour-long presentation is free to attend, but registration is required.
