SP Industries has acquired privately held Bel-Art Products, the parent company of Maddak Inc.
Maddak, which provides aids to daily living to healthcare and retail markets, is best known in the rehab industry for its Morph Wheels — manual wheelchair wheels that fold for storage or transport.
SP Industries, described as “a leading designer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, biological drug manufacturing solutions and specialty glassware,” said in a news announcement that Maddak would continue to operate under its own name.
Brad Mahood, COO of Maddak, “will play a key leadership role in sales, marketing and product management at the corporate level,” the SP announcement said, while Bel-Art President David Landsberger would join the SP board of directors.
