The latest LECKEY launch from Sunrise Medical performs an array of positioning functions via a single “infinitely configurable” pediatric seating system.
The LECKEY BeMe can be used on the brand’s Multi-Height and Tilt Indoor high-low base, thus functioning as an activity chair with robust positioning support.
But to expand the range of kids’ adventures, the BeMe also fits onto the ZIPPIE IRIS manual tilt-in-space wheelchair and the ZIPPIE Q300 M Mini power wheelchair.
“Available in multiple sizes and clinically appropriate support levels, BeMe offers a flexible, long-term solution for children with mild to complex positioning requirements,” Sunrise Medical said in a June 1 announcement. “Built on a highly interchangeable platform with 90% shared components, BeMe allows backrests, seat bases and accessories to be adjusted or exchanged quickly — often while the child remains seated. Patented growable foam technology and four-way stretch covers provide up to 5 inches (12 cm) of seamless growth without inserts or additional hardware.”
The BeMe series comprises Basic supports, designed for kids who transfer independently, but need everyday positioning support; BeMe Moderate with enhanced pelvic and trunk stability thanks to a contoured, growable cushion and adjustable lumbar support; and BeMe Advanced, with multi-adjustable split seat base and a 3D backrest to accommodate children with asymmetrical presentations.
The BeMe is available in four sizes. Options and accessories include a dynamic backrest that moves with the child, medial thigh support, sandals for foot positioning, femoral guides, slimline laterals, a tray, and a butterfly harness.
“Fit the chair to the child, not the child to the chair,” said Ian Hendry, LECKEY sales director. “BeMe’s modular design supports accurate positioning today while giving families confidence that the system will continue to adapt as the child grows.”
