Thomas Rossnagel, Sunrise Medical’s president/CEO since 2009, has resigned from the company, citing family reasons.
In a June 1 announcement, Sunrise said the chairman of its board of directors, Johan Ek, has been named acting CEO.
“After 20 years of service at Sunrise Medical, I would like to spend more time with my family,” Rossnagel said in the news release. “For that reason, I have asked our owners, Nordic Capital, to find a new CEO for Sunrise Medical. I took this step to ensure continued success of this great business. It is the right time for a new leader to take Sunrise Medical to the next level.”
In the announcement, Ek gave Rossnagel credit for leading “Sunrise Medical’s transformation to a global industry leader with revenues approaching 500 million Euros in 2017. He has worked relentlessly towards Sunrise Medical’s vision [of] ‘Improving People’s Lives’ by designing, manufacturing and marketing of innovative, high quality premium complex rehab mobility products and services. It is with regret I have accepted Thomas’s resignation.”
