Sunrise Medical to Produce & Distribute Magic Mobility Power Chairs

Sunrise Medical will now produce and distribute Magic Mobility power wheelchairs from its new Nashville, Tenn., facility.

In an Oct. 4 news announcement, Sunrise Medical added that its Nashville location will also distribute the Leckey pediatric line. QUICKIE power chairs will be assembled and shipped from the Nashville facility starting early next year.

Magic Mobility power chairs are best known for their outdoor and off-road capabilities, although the Frontier power chair line is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Sunrise Medical’s Nashville facility will produce the Magic Mobility Extreme X8, Frontier V6, and Frontier V4 power chairs, starting “immediately,” according to the news announcement.

Previously, Magic Mobility power chairs were distributed in the United States by Innovation In Motion, headquartered in Angola, Ind. Magic Mobility is based in Australia.

Larry Jackson, President of Sunrise Medical North America, said in the announcement, “Magic Mobility power wheelchairs are synonymous with durability, independence and active mobility. We can’t be more excited to sell, build and support these amazing products.

“With the opening of our new manufacturing facility in Nashville, we are further reinforcing our commitment to offering the very best delivery times, highest quality and outstanding support for Magic Mobility products. We’ve been working hard with Innovation in Motion and Magic Mobility to ensure a successful transition for power chair drivers who are eagerly awaiting their product.”

Regarding the new Nashville location, Jackson added, “This new facility will have such a positive impact for our customers and marks a major milestone for Sunrise Medical. In combination with our ISO 13485-certified manufacturing facilities in Fresno and Tijuana, we’ve increased our footprint, ensuring that the highest-quality products are delivered in the fastest possible manner throughout all of North America. We are so excited that more wheelchair riders will experience and explore new terrain with the Magic Mobility range.”
