Symmetric Designs Now Offering Free Form Backs in Bariatric Sizing

October 22, 2020 by Laurie Watanabe

Free Form Seating Back Kits are now available in additional sizes from Symmetric Designs.

In a news announcement, Symmetric Designs’ CEO Sam Hannah said the additional sizing would help to support bariatric clients who could benefit from customized support and positioning. “Options for bariatric custom seating have historically been very limited,” Hannah told Mobility Management. “We hope to fill this need with our new XL and XXL Back Kits.”

The new Free Form Back Kits are now available to fit wheelchairs up to 24 inches wide. The XL Back Kit fits wheelchair widths of 20 to 22 inches, and the XXL Back Kit fits wheelchairs 22 to 24 inches wide.

Both of the new sizes come standard with a Stimulite cover designed to promote excellent air, heat and moisture dissipation. Hannah noted, “The Stimulite cover also retains its honeycomb structure and pressure redistribution qualities, even with prolonged and high compression.”

Each XL and XXL Back Kit comes with additional mounts and alloy 2-balls for extra reinforcement. In a single box, ATP suppliers and clinicians get everything they need to fit a custom-molded back support wherever they are: One of Free Form Seating’s greatest features is its infinite adjustability.

Symmetric Designs’ Free Form Seating is HCPCS coded E2617.
