If you saw this week’s story on Kia’s new PV5 wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) — aimed at rideshare and taxi applications, among others — check out @mikethecargeek’s 3-minute video tour at the New York Auto Show. PV5 WAV features include a laser indicator to guide wheelchair riders inside, a wheelchair securement system, and an occupant restraint system.
It’s National Mobility Awareness Month, and Anthony Sanchez — aka, Wheelchair Papi, actor, model, influencer, advocate and dad — partnered with the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA) to provide a real-world look via Instagram at the hand controls he uses to drive. (Bonus: We also get a peek as he transfers out of his ultralightweight wheelchair.)
