Trauma Queen: Living with a C2 incomplete SCI
Brianna Seewald (@traumaqueen444 on YouTube), a nurse who sustained a C2 incomplete spinal cord injury in a car accident four years ago, has a personal mantra of “Survive the crash, not the impact.”
This timely video short shows Seewald ice skating with her family, and many of her videos demonstrate how she accomplishes daily tasks — putting on leggings, using a bathlift, making her king-sized bed. But as a nurse, Seewald also includes conversations on thermoregulation, urinary tract infections … and this wonderful short on the custom molding process in clinic for her back support.
Aaron the Social Worker: On Why This Patient Needs Mobility
Calling all billing and documentation specialists, as well as the Assistive Technology Professionals (ATPs) whose seating and wheeled mobility claims get denied for mind-boggling reasons: @Aaron_the_Social_Worker feels your pain and speaks up about it.
Aaron, a Ph.D. candidate according to the accompanying YouTube bio, has a range of video shorts in which he explains why an insurer should not have denied a wheelchair, medication, surgery or other service. As a licensed clinical social worker who says in his bio that he is “exposing health care costs and sparking reform,” Aaron also provides a sample appeal letter and a sample appeal call script, and invites YouTube viewers to share their insurance frustrations.
